| WHO TO INVITE: A) Make a complete list of every local person you would consider inviting B) Make a complete list of all local family members you would consider inviting C) Make a complete list of all out of town family and friends you would consider inviting HOW MANY INVITATIONS: A) Go through the lists and BE SURE there are no duplications B) Go through the lists, eliminate those that you are NOT SURE you want to attend C) After eliminations, count your total and add 15 - 25 for mistakes, after thoughts and invitations souvenirs.REMEMBER: Count your own self and family. D) Figure that each invitation will invite how many people? A family or couple or a single person? E) Decide how many friends your son or daughter will invite. REMEMBER: Hebrew school classmates F) Add all of these numbers together and this should give you your total number of invitations needed. HELPFUL HINTS FOR WHO'S COMING: YOU KNOW YOUR GUESTS, THERE IS NO HARD AND FAST RULE AS TO HOW MANY WILL ATTEND; HOWEVER, USUALLY WITH OUT-OF-TOWN GUESTS APPROXIMATELY 1/3 WILL NOT COME. * ALWAYS get a proof to correct any mistakes. * Get at least 10 additional envelopes for addressing errors * If there is an entree' choice remember to list them on the response card * This is also a good time to order: Thank you notes, Imprinted Napkins, Imprinted Yarkulkes * DON'T FORGET to add postage on your R.S.V.P. card INFORMATION SHOULD INCLUDE: Name of parents, Name of honoree, Type of event, Location with address, Reception information OUT OF TOWN GUESTS: Send an informal announcement 6 months before event to be sure they do not have conflicting dates and can make travel plans well in advance. INCLUDE: Who..What..Where..When...Name of person or family sending announcement, address and telephone number including the area code.
